東京ハードコア、ASSAULT。Novembre Recordsよりリリースされた初期音源集に引き続き、2枚のオリジナルアルバムをコンパイルした編集盤が遂に登場。
ハードコアの性急さに抒情性やドラマティックな面を併せ持つバンドは数多くあれど、ASSAULTは現在においてもその独自性を否定することは出来ない。緻密に練り上げられた楽曲とギターアンサンブル、それをバンドとして一体化させていたメンバー達の匠。その証明として残された2枚のアルバムが1つの作品として今再び日の目を見る。

この再発の話をいただいた瞬間から、オリジナルでは埋もれてしまったドラム・サウンドが少しでも改善出来ればと考え、また、音量を上げてダイナミズムを増強させるようなリマスタリングは避けようと決意していました。ギターが引っ込んだことによって、もうここには居ない弦楽器隊の意思に背いてるのでは？なんて思われるかもですが、音の分離と質感に最もこだわりを持っていたのは、むしろ彼等だったことは理解して下さい。
我々が熱中して聴いた昔のレコードやCDに載っていた決まり文句のPLAY LOUD！には、ちゃんと理由と説得力があったことを忘れないためにも、安易な現代的ダイナミズム処理にしたくなかったので、是非とも近所迷惑なくらい、難聴になるくらいに、でっかい音で聴いてください！自己責任で。

Tokyo hardcore band ASSAULT. Following the early recordings compilation released by Novembre Records, a new compilation collecting their two original albums finally sees the light of day.
While many hardcore bands combine urgency with elements of melody and drama, ASSAULT’s unique identity remains undeniable even today. Intricately crafted songs and layered guitar ensembles, brought together through the members’ remarkable musicianship, formed a powerful unity as a band. The two albums that stand as proof of this achievement now re-emerge together as a single work.

This is remastered from another DAT, not the master for original release in 2001.
Drum sound is getting clearer bit, but guitar sound and also volume level is lower than original.
This is I wanted, not failure remastering.
I don't like these days' easy noisy dynamic sound by compressed production.
So NOT recommend to those who expect modern updated sound production than original.
PLAY LOUD like old days CD.
